At Montgomerie Flooring, we have been serving the community for over 60 years, making us experts in the industry. We offer a mobile carpet store service to domestic customers, as well as comprehensive flooring contracts to commercial customers across Central Scotland.

Our team of experienced surveyors are available for appointments at a time to suit you, including evenings and weekends. With our mobile carpet store, you can view flooring in the area it is intended for, have the area measured, and receive a costing for the project. This flexible, bespoke service has proven to be extremely successful.

Our History

The family business started in 1952 with the first shop, "John S Montgomerie, " on Ruthven Street, just off Byres Road in Glasgow. At this point, carpets were mainly made 27" wide and seamed together to make a carpet surround. The shop later moved to bigger premises on Hyndland Road, during which the carpet industry evolved and carpets were made wider and fitted wall to wall. The business concentrated solely on flooring in 1976, moving to Crow Road in Broomhill, Glasgow.

Throughout the years, we have served many generations of customers, primarily in Glasgow's Westend, Hyndland, Jordanhill, Anniesland, Bearsden, and Milngavie. In the 80s, the second Montgomerie generation joined the business, developing it to include contract work for flooring in McCarthy and Stone House Builders, followed by refurbishing contracts for Glasgow's property factors.

The Millennium brought many changes, including the arrival of online shopping and increasingly busy lives for the general public. To cater to these demands, we launched our Mobile Flooring Service, which allows customers to have a home visit when it suits them. This service has been highly successful and continues to grow.

Today, Montgomerie Flooring is owned and ran by Garry Montgomerie, serving Central Scotland with a commitment to quality, reliability, and excellent customer service.
